Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center and in-office PSC/PST roles. Under the area supervisor, you will perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with accuracy and courtesy, following established procedures.

You will greet customers, collect venipuncture samples and other specimens, enter data into PathConnect, label and transport specimens, and maintain daily logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. (May be required based on state and laboratory guidelines.)
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Disposes of blood/biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer with high accuracy.
• Maintains required records and logs, and compiles monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Adheres to grooming, lab coat policies and safety procedures.
