Job summary

PathGroup seeks a Patient Services Technician under the supervision of the area supervisor to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST, interacting with clients and patients professionally and conducting specimen collection and processing per established practices.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, collecting specimens accurately and on time, explaining procedures such as venipuncture, maintaining records, and ensuring correct labeling and data entry while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. (May be required based on state and laboratory guidelines.)
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana.)
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture and other collection methods clearly and calmly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Maintains daily records and all PSC/IOPST logs; participates in data entry as required.
• Follows safety, privacy, and lab procedures to protect patient information and specimen integrity.
