Qualifications

• Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Attention to detail for accurate data entry and requisitions.
• Customer service and professional interaction with clients and patients.
• Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly to patients.
• Disposes of blood or biohazard materials in accordance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens and handles labeling, centrifuging, and freezing as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains proper storage temperatures.
• Maintains daily records, logs, and required documentation.
• Assists with monthly statistics and data compilation.
• Performs electronic data entry and basic clerical tasks.
• Monitors time and attendance via software and submits expense/travel logs as directed.
• Adheres to grooming, dress code, and lab coat policies; presents a neat appearance.
• Communicates effectively to ensure smooth patient flow and teamwork.
• Answers the phone professionally using the company name and proper self-identification.
• Performs duties independently and reports issues to supervisor promptly.
• Contributes to a positive work climate and team effort.
• Ensures facilities are neat and in good repair and coordinates with leadership for maintenance.
• Assists with periodic inventory counts and reports shortages to supervision.
• Adheres to PPE usage and laboratory safety procedures.
