Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office setting, interacting professionally with clients, patients, and PathGroup staff. The role includes specimen collection, processing, data entry, and maintaining accurate records.

Work involves phlebotomy, specimen handling, and adherence to compliance and safety policies while supporting team operations and ensuring timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. (May be required based on state and laboratory guidelines.)
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection to patients clearly and calmly.
• Collects, handles, labels, centrifuges, and stores specimens per test orders.
• Enters patient and test information into PathConnect or other PathGroup systems.
• Maintains daily logs and prepares PSC/IOPST Technician records and reports.
