Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities at the PSC or in-office. You will interact with clients and patients professionally and carry out forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established practices.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, data entry, and maintaining accurate records while communicating clearly with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens per established procedures and explains venipuncture to patients clearly.
• Disposes of biohazards and sharps following laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient, specimen, and billing information with high attention to detail.
• Matches requisitions to specimens and processes them as required by test orders.
• Packages and stores specimens appropriately for transport.
• Maintains daily logs, records, and periodic statistics as needed.
• Performs electronic data entry and other basic clerical duties.
