Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats them courteously.
• Ensures specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explains procedures to patients and alleviates anxiety during collection.
• Disposes of biohazards per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions and enters patient data into PathConnect or other systems.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens and maintains proper labeling and processing.
• Packages and stores specimens for transport, ensuring required temperatures.
• Maintains records and PSC/IOPST logs; assists with monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Adheres to grooming, dress code, and lab coat policies.
• Communicates with supervisor about issues and maintenance needs.
• Maintains a professional work environment and patient confidentiality.
