Job summary

PathGroup in Hendersonville, TN is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST under supervision. The role requires professional interaction with clients and patients and accurate collection and processing of forensic and clinical specimens.

You will handle phlebotomy, document requisitions, enter data, maintain logs, and support with monthly statistics.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately; treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture clearly and calmly.
• Disposes of biohazard fluids or tissue per laws, standards, or policies; disposes of contaminated sharps accordingly.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and/or other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information; communicates with clients to verify orders and billing details.
• Matches requisition forms to specimen tubes; labels, centrifuges, mixes, and stores specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport; maintains specimen integrity and proper temperatures.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and compiles monthly statistics.
