Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center or in-office PST under the area supervisor. You will perform daily patient service activities, interact with clients and patients in a professional manner, and perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, collecting specimens, documenting information, maintaining records, and ensuring accuracy and compliance

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture and other collection procedures clearly to patients.
• Disposes of biohazard materials in accordance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient and billing information into computer systems with high accuracy.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and prepares monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
