Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center (PSC) or In-office PST duties under the direction of the area supervisor. This role involves professional patient interaction, accurate specimen collection and processing, and adherence to established practices and procedures.

The position supports phlebotomy and laboratory workflow, requires careful data entry, and requires maintaining records and logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred based on guidelines.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred; required in Louisiana per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously and professionally.
• Ensure field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
• Dispose of blood and biohazard materials in accordance with laws and policies.
• Enter patient and test information into PathConnect and other systems with accuracy.
