Job summary

PathGroup in Johnson City, TN seeks a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST role. You will interact with clients and patients in a professional manner and carry out forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.

The position requires accurate data entry, proper labeling and handling of specimens, adherence to safety and privacy policies, and the ability to maintain logs and support monthly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred depending on guidelines.
• Phlebotomist certification is preferred and may be required by state.
• Experience in patient service or phlebotomy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide courteous service throughout the PSC or PST setting.
• Collect specimens accurately and explain the venipuncture process to patients.
• Label, centrifuge, and process specimens per test order and protocol.
• Enter patient and test information into the laboratory system with accuracy.
• Maintain records, logs, and monthly statistics; handle routine clerical tasks.
• Adhere to PPE, safety, privacy, and compliance policies in all duties.
