Job summary

Health Alliance in Leominster, MA is hiring a Central Processing Assistant/Phlebotomist for 32 hours per week, day shift. You will collect blood specimens, perform venipuncture, and transport samples to the laboratory while maintaining specimen integrity.

Responsibilities include patient registration, insurance verification for outpatients, and processing specimens for analysis. EKGs may be performed using GE carts and MUSE software, with a focus on accuracy and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a certified phlebotomy course.
• Minimum 120 hours of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred; ASCP PBT certification preferred.
• Good communication and customer service skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Procure blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures with proper patient identification.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture using approved equipment; transport specimens to the lab.
• Register patients in the HIS and verify insurance for outpatients; assist front desk as needed.
• Prepare, label, and store specimens for analysis; distribute reports to physicians as required.
• Assist with EKGs and operate appropriate carts/software as part of the workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with safety and infection control policies.
