Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a per diem phlebotomist to join the on-site team across campus locations. You will collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary methods, perform EKGs and point-of-care testing as required, and support registration and specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with successful completion from a recognized phlebotomy program or prior phlebotomy experience.
• Basic life support certification required within 3 months of employment and annual competency maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy procedures.
• Reviews orders to ensure medically necessary tests.
• Performs EKG, pulse oximetry and point-of-care testing as requested.
• Prepares samples for transport, labeling and packaging.
• Contributes to registration and data accuracy in the Hospital system.
