Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Phlebotomy training
• ASCP certification or eligibility
• Phlebotomy experience
• Computer and keyboard proficiency
• Fluent English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples using venipuncture techniques for all ages.
• Labels and prioritizes specimens (STAT, STROKE, CSF) accurately.
• Transports and redistributes specimens per protocol.
• Maintains a clean and organized drawing station or cart.
• Restocks supplies at end of shift.
• Registers courier-delivered specimens efficiently.
• Orders tests using hospital information systems and test dictionaries.
• Answers and transfers calls courteously and ensures coverage.
• Performs capillary collections (heel sticks, PKU) proficiently.
• Adapts to workflow changes and provides shift reports.
