Job summary

Mass General Brigham Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. in Jamaica Plain, MA is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor.

The role is onsite and part-time, handling blood specimen collection and pre-analytical processing to support the laboratory workflow. The position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred and 3–5 years of hospital laboratory experience preferred; internship or 0–1 year is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred (ASCP-BOC).
• 3-5 years hospital laboratory experience preferred; internship or 0-1 year required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies correct specimen and labeling requirements for test orders.
• Registers and labels tubes accurately.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens per policy.
• Sorts, stores, and delivers laboratory specimens as required.
• Collaborates with technologists and client services to resolve specimen problems.
• Answers telephones and provides assistance as needed.
