UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Central Processing Assistant in the Outpatient Lab. The role involves collecting and transporting blood samples, processing specimens for analysis, and performing EKGs using GE carts and MUSE software.

You will register patients, verify insurance for outpatients, and maintain accurate laboratory documentation. You will greet patients at the front desk, manage orders in the LIS, ensure test validity for medical necessity, and coordinate with physicians.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified phlebotomy course completed.
• Minimum 120 hours of clinical phlebotomy experience.

Mansioni

• Identify patients with two identifiers (name and DOB).
• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws.
• Respond to STAT blood work within 30 minutes and timed specimens within ±15 minutes.
• Use ROVER for inpatient blood draws and perform EKGs.
• Enter patient data into HIS and verify insurance for outpatients.
