Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to perform specimen collections and provide exceptional customer service. You will work in a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office sites, or office suites within medical buildings, representing the face and voice of the BILH Laboratories to patients.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, data entry, specimen preparation for transport, and supporting QA programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or other accredited agency preferred.
• 1+ years experience in Patient Service Centers preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsabilités

• Provide excellent phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate/update patient demographics and lab orders in the BILH system; collect and enter insurance info as needed.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Prepare specimens for transport via courier to BILH laboratories.
• Perform administrative duties to open, operate, and close the PSC daily.
• Assist in training and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists; travel to other PSC sites when needed.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Report to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and participate in QA programs and continuing education.
