Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to perform blood collections and provide friendly, patient-focused service across multiple sites. You will validate patient info in our systems, collect data, and prepare specimens for transport to our laboratories.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team, with occasional travel to other PSCs and doctor offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s Degree or college classes welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience in Patient Service Centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate and update patient demographics and information in the BILH system.
• Enter patient data and lab orders into the BILH computer system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture or capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BILH laboratory.
• Perform clerical duties to open, operate, and close the PSC daily.
• Assist in training and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists as needed.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor offices as required.
