Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join our satellite lab team. You will perform blood draws, prepare specimens, and manage orders with strict documentation and LIS usage. You’ll support rapid testing, patient check-ins, and coordination with couriers for specimen transport.

The role requires high accuracy, good English communication, and the ability to work across satellite locations. Training and a collaborative environment are provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; technical program preferred.
• BLS or Heartsaver for Healthcare Providers required.
• Experience with scheduling and orders management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Processes Stat specimens per SOP.
• Collects urine and stool samples with proper labeling and preservation.
• Performs H. pylori Breath test collection.
• Handles orders for minors and documents necessary actions.
• Utilizes LIS for job duties and updates logs.
• Adapts schedule to meet staffing needs.
• Trains new staff on lab policies and procedures.
• Performs rapid tests and notifies physicians of critical results.
