Job summary

VillageMD is seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Technician to join our satellite lab operations in New Jersey. You will draw blood cultures, process and label specimens, and support home collection procedures, while adhering to safety and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualified candidates bring 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, high school diploma, and familiarity with LIS systems. Travel to satellite locations may be required; the role offers daytime hours with some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Certification in phlebotomy preferred; CLA may be required at some locations.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, medical terminology and lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Process specimens and prepare containers for home collection as needed.
• Handle STAT specimens and ensure correct labeling and documentation.
• Perform rapid strep and other rapid tests in LIS and communicate critical results.
• Train new staff and assist with courier coordination for satellite sites.
