Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join our lab team in a full-time capacity. You will perform adult, pediatric, and infant phlebotomy across traditional and satellite locations, following strict SOPs and aseptic techniques. You will manage specimen labeling, blood bank paperwork, and LIS data entry to ensure accurate results.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to multitask, and flexibility to adapt schedules, including rotating Saturday or Sunday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (NHA) preferred; CLA certificate may be required for some sites.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and laboratory requirements; proficiency with LIS and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Processes Stat specimens per SOP.
• Prepares collection containers with appropriate preservatives; coordinates home specimen collection.
• Collects COC Urine Drug Screen.
• Administers and collects H. pylori Breath test.
• Handles orders and labeling for Blood Bank specimens.
• Delivers satellites and monitors inventory; replenishes supplies.
• Documents callbacks and maintains LIS records.
