Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join our satellite lab team in New Jersey. You will draw blood cultures, process specimens, and support patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include adherence to aseptic techniques, LIS documentation, scheduling flexibility for on-site shifts, and coordinating with couriers. A high school diploma and at least 2 years’ phlebotomy experience are required; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required and drug screen collection preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification through the National Health Career Association (NHA) preferred; may be required for specific locations based on operational needs.
• CLA Certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA guidelines and laboratory requirements to include skills in phlebotomy techniques with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients, computer/data entry skills and phone etiquette are required.
• Attention to detail, multitasking and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Process Stat specimens per SOP.
• Prepare collection containers with appropriate preservatives and instructions for home collection.
• Collect COC Urine Drug Screen.
• Administer/collect H. pylori Breath test.
• Handle orders for OVH Blood Bank specimens.
• Monitor inventory and replenish supplies in the phlebotomy area.
• Document callbacks and ensure proper patient charge deletion.
• Enter results in LIS and notify physician of critical results.
• Travel to satellite locations as needed.
