Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our satellite lab team in New Jersey. You will perform blood collection and specimen handling across multiple sites, adhering to aseptic technique and lab SOPs. This role requires attention to detail and effective communication with patients and staff.

The position supports rotating weekend shifts and a 8am–4:30pm schedule, with opportunities to contribute to rapid tests and Lab operations across our network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification through NHA preferred; may be required for locations.
• CLA Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses aseptic technique to draw blood cultures.
• Processes Stat specimens per SOP.
• Prepare collection containers and provide collection instructions for home specimens.
• Collect COC Urine Drug Screen.
• Administers and collects H. pylori Breath test.
• Handles orders for OVH Blood Bank specimens.
• Monitors inventory and replenishes supplies in phlebotomy areas.
• Document callbacks and patient charges per policy.
• Utilizes LIS for duties and downtime procedures.
• Adapt schedule to meet emergency staffing needs.
