Job summary

VillageMD in Florham Park, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our satellite lab team. You will draw blood cultures, process specimens, and ensure proper collection, labeling and documentation across multiple locations.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, and certification preferences (NHA). Candidates should have attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification through the NHA preferred; CLA certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA guidelines and laboratory requirements.
• Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and reading procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Uses aseptic technique to draw blood cultures.
• Processes Stat specimens according to SOP.
• Prepares collection containers with preservatives for home collection (Urine & Stool).
• Measures and records volume for 24-hr collection.
• Collects a COC Urine Drug Screen.
• Administers and collects H. pylori Breath test.
• Handles orders on minors with proper procedure.
• Monitors inventory and replenishes supplies in phlebotomy area.
• Documents callbacks and lab results.
• Uses LIS for applicable functions and adapts schedules for emergencies.
