Job summary

Centers Laboratory of New Jersey in Clifton, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist to work weekdays 8 AM - 7 PM in our Laboratory located in Clifton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of prior experience along with excellent interpersonal skills!

Will work in multiple locations. Records and safety procedures are emphasized, with a focus on accurate specimen collection and proper labeling.

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent.
Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred.
Without certificate must have completed a hospital or major lab training program.
2 years proven experience as a phlebotomist.
Understanding of standard blood drawing practices.

Responsibilities

Accurately identify patients using a wristband, documents or through known visual identification.
Receives assignments, assembles supplies and equipment required to perform specimen collection according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
Accurately identifies priorities such as Stat, timed, or routine.
Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
Reassure patients and help them relax.
Draw blood using proper equipment and techniques.
Label test tubes correctly and send or deliver them for testing.
Ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
