Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures. You will monitor donors, respond to alarms, and disconnect donors after completion while ensuring safety and accurate data entry.

Role requires attention to donor reactions, proper use of the PDA for incident logging, and adherence to SOPs and safety policies. Cross-training and bilingual skills may be required depending on center needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor events.
• Link equipment and consumables used to the appropriate donor in the donor information system as SOPs require.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
