Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process, and to monitor the donor and the procedure to ensure safety and compliance.

The role involves recording incidents in the PDA, linking equipment to donors, alerting leadership of flow issues, maintaining accurate donor data in the electronic system, and following SOPs. We also prioritize HSE/OSHA policy adherence and confidentiality, with potential cross-training as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Links equipment and soft goods used to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understands policies for hyper immune programs; maintains a clean, efficient work environment.
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies; promotes safety in all actions.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
