Job summary

CSL Plasma in Florida is seeking a Phlebotomist to efficiently collect plasma from donors by performing pheresis under SOPs and FDA guidelines. You will set up donors, monitor the process, and ensure donor safety and product quality.

Key responsibilities include performing venipuncture, evaluating vein performance, educating donors about the donation process, documenting incidents with a PDA, and maintaining readiness and safety in a fast-paced environment while complying with HSE and OSHA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year preferable.
• Internal CSL Employees must have successfully completed the CSL Plasma DST training.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure and plasma collection in compliance with SOPs.
• Perform venipuncture to initiate pheresis per FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust as needed to expedite donation and ensure safety.
• Educate donors about plasma products, screening, health tests, fees, center policies, and nutrition.
• Monitor donors for reactions and respond or alert staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents and maintain donor data in the information management system.
• Calibrate and verify maintenance of equipment as outlined in SOPs; respond to alarms and issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and replace equipment as needed.
• Monitor donor flow on the floor to ensure continuous turnover; report issues.
• Collect arm or blood samples for testing as required.
