Job summary

CSL Vifor Auburn, AL is seeking a Plasma Donor Services Technician to perform venipuncture, monitor the pheresis process and ensure donor safety in accordance with SOPs. You will set up donors, monitor flow, document events with a PDA, calibrate equipment, and assist with donor education and post-donation care.

You will maintain confidentiality, adhere to HSE and OSHA policies, and contribute to a positive donor experience by ensuring efficient, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in medical or health care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for efficient collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process per SOPs.
• Perform all aspects of pheresis procedure including donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Educate donors on the donation process, screening tests, appointment system, and center policies as applicable.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist with reactions or notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA and electronic donor information management system.
• Perform calibrations and maintenance checks as outlined in SOPs; respond to alarms and resolve equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents; replace equipment as needed.
• Monitor donor flow to ensure smooth turnover and escalate donor flow issues to leadership.
• Collect arm samples or whole blood samples for testing; maintain donor confidentiality.
