Job summary

CSL is seeking a pheresis technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process, and to monitor the donor and machine throughout the procedure. The role involves ensuring accurate data entry, adhering to HSE/OSHA policies, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment at all times.

The candidate will use a PDA to document incidents, alarms, and donor events, and may be cross-trained in other areas with potential bilingual requirements to support center needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions and notifies staff as needed.
• Uses a PDA to record incidents, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Uses PDA to link equipment and soft goods to the donor.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
