Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Departments Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread, and Bakery areas. You will ensure accurate inventory, appealing presentation, and strong customer service while maintaining safe, compliant operations.

You will train staff, manage stock levels, and assist in scheduling to ensure smooth store performance. Prior lead or grocery experience and food handling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years retail clerk experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments (Produce, Meat, Dairy, Frozen, Bakery) and ensure inventory management.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, pricing, and safe food handling.
• Maintain stocking, rotation, and markdowns to meet store standards.
• Assist in scheduling and provide coverage as needed.
• Record inventory levels and ensure sanitation standards are met.
