Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Bakery areas. You will ensure accurate inventory, appealing merchandising, and exceptional customer service, while upholding food safety standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, using order guides and plan-o-gram standards, training associates, managing scheduling, and protecting assets through sanitation and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience preferred.
• Previous lead or grocery store experience is beneficial.
• Attainment of required local/state food handling certifications if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread and Bakery operations.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using established guides.
• Train associates in presentation, freshness, and pricing standards; ensure safe food handling.
• Schedule coverage and supervise staff to meet store goals and safety standards.
• Record perishable markdowns and ensure compliance with sanitation and safety policies.
