Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of retail clerk experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to perform basic math and use cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee perishable departments including Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread, and Bakery items.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using daily tools and plans.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe food handling.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety regulations in all perishable areas.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling coverage and staff assignments.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take corrective actions.
