Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Meat, Dairy, Frozen, Bakery, and related categories. You will manage inventory, drive attractive product presentation, and uphold safety and sanitation standards across all perishable sections.

You will train staff, monitor markdowns, and ensure accurate ordering and replenishment based on store volume and demand. This role requires strong leadership and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years of retail clerk experience preferred.
• Attainment of local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Previous lead experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using store volume data and planograms.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, pricing, and safety standards.
• Assist in scheduling coverage and ensuring adequate staffing.
• Record perishable markdowns and investigate variances to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure sanitation standards are followed and inventory is accurately recorded.
