Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a candidate to manage the Perishable Departments including produce, dairy, meats, bakery, and frozen items. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure profitability and safety.

Responsibilities include training associates, maintaining stock levels, and upholding sanitation and safety standards across perishables. Prior supervisory experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentages.
• Ability to learn cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using order guides and sales history.
• Train associates in proper stocking, handling, and merchandising of perishables.
• Record inventory levels and perform markdown analyses.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed efficiently and provide quality service.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in perishable departments.
