Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery sections. You will ensure accurate inventory, appealing displays, and excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.

You will train associates in stocking, pricing, and food handling, coordinate scheduling with the Store Manager, and monitor markdowns and ordering guides to reduce waste.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain perishable departments and inventory levels.
• Train associates in proper presentation and safety.
• Schedule coverage with Store Manager.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes.
• Ensure sanitation standards and safety compliance.
• Manage ordering guides and stock based on store volume.
• Monitor adherence to plan-o-gram and pricing standards.
