Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to function as part of the perioperative team under the RN supervision. The role includes scrubbing, assistance, and second circulator duties as needed, with an emphasis on asepsis and patient care.

Sign-on bonus and relocation bonus are available. The department emphasizes collaboration with surgeons and OR staff to prepare trays, instruments, and supplies for each procedure.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment with aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for an efficient department.
• Facilitates communication with nursing staff and other departments.
• Documents patient data and orders accurately in records.
