Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as the first, second, or assisting technician under RN supervision.

You will scrub chief procedures, maintain asepsis, and collaborate with surgeons and OR staff to prepare trays, instrumentation, and supplies for each surgery. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, data collection, and effective unit communication.

Qualifications

• Surgical tech degree or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Independently scrubs basic procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment using aseptic technique.
• Organize supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Facilitate communication between units and nursing staff.
• Document patient data and orders accurately.
• Schedule tests, tests and appointments as directed by RN.
