Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. The technician will scrub, assist, or circulate under the direct supervision of the RN, contributing to efficient patient care and operating room readiness.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, coordinating supplies, and communicating with nursing staff to ensure smooth procedures. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate’s Degree or related Surgical Technology credential.
• Formal Surgical Technology coursework or certificate required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis during procedures.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment for efficient operation.
• Communicate with nursing staff and act as liaison between units.
• Collect data and document nursing records per standards.
• Transcribe orders, schedule tests and manage patient charts.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and transport as needed.
• Record admissions, discharges, and transfers in the system.
• Assist with inventory, supply ordering and sterilization of instruments.
