Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as a scrub tech or second circulator under RN supervision. The role emphasizes sterile technique, asepsis, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology credential, BLS certification within 30 days, and strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

• BLS certification within 30 days after hire.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis throughout procedures.
• Assists with supplies, equipment, and coordination to support efficient OR operations.
• Communicates effectively with nursing staff and surgeons; documents patient data as required.
• Collaborates with OR team to ensure trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure.
