Job summary

Dow Inc. in Freeport, TX is seeking an Operations Performance Engineer to drive safe, reliable, and profitable manufacturing operations.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams to resolve complex plant challenges and translate improvements into action. The role emphasizes asset optimization, performance monitoring, and lead projects from identification through implementation while maintaining environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, operations, or engineering.
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment and use PPE; familiar with safety equipment.
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve asset performance by optimizing reliability, production throughput, product quality, raw material efficiency, and manufacturing costs.
• Drive achievement of production targets and business objectives through operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate operational decisions for site and business integration impacts and recommend actions that optimize overall system performance.
• Serve as a key technical resource by providing troubleshooting, coaching, and support during routine operations, operational upsets, abnormal situations, and emergency events.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions to improve operating discipline and performance.
• Leverage process expertise, operating data, and subject matter expert networks to resolve complex plant issues and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Monitor operational, process, and business performance metrics to identify, prioritize, and implement value-creating improvement opportunities.
• Lead capital and expense improvement projects, including value case development, technical leadership, and successful implementation of solutions.
• Identify and close performance and reliability gaps, eliminate constraints, and partner with Maintenance and Reliability teams to improve asset availability and long-term asset performance.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits, environmental requirements, and process safety systems while maintaining a strong field presence and reinforcing safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations.
