Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Per Diem Patient Access Representative to manage patient registration at outpatient and emergency locations. You will identify patients, transcribe orders, verify insurance and handle real-time eligibility, while promoting MyChart usage.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. Travel between campus locations may be required to support operations and patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate/Degree in health care related field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify/validate patients in hospital information system to ensure EMR accuracy.
• Report any suspected identity theft to clinical leadership for escalation.
• Maintain knowledge of network policy on patient identification and chart corrections.
• Handle patient registration including demographics, insurance, and verification.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure clean claim submission and timely payment.
• Cross-train across locations and support outpatient and ED areas as needed.
