Carter’s Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Grand Rapids to lead a welcoming team and deliver outstanding service. You’ll guide staff on product styles, features and benefits while nurturing a positive, inclusive store culture that supports growth for families and colleagues alike.

As a trusted leader, you’ll manage staffing, coaching, and performance, collaborate on merchandising and promotions, and monitor KPIs to strengthen sales and customer loyalty in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of retail or related management experience.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficient computer and technology skills (Outlook, Excel, Web navigation, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Execute workforce management to ensure a genuine customer focus on the sales floor.
• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with product styles, features and benefits.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for employees and customers.
• Coach others to success while modeling service standards and omnichannel experience.
• Analyze the business and drive KPI improvements with the team.
• Build customer loyalty through Company-sponsored programs, including credit.
• Assist Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing the team.
• Plan and report on tasks and financial results using Company tools.
• Partner with Store Manager on merchandising standards, promotions, markdowns, and product placement.
• Reduce loss through excellent service, education, and operational controls.
