Job summary

Associates in Pediatric Therapy LLC is seeking a Patient Coordinator to be the welcoming first point of contact for families. Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Must have demeanor and compassion to work with pediatric patients with special needs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Prior electronic medical records (EMR) experience helpful.
• Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person and by phone.
• Obtain initial prescription from referring physician for treatment.
• Obtain initial authorization from insurance provider.
• Schedule appointments in EMR and update patient paperwork.
• Coordinate communications with staff, referring physicians, and therapists.
• Assist patients checking in using the kiosk when needed.
• Collect co-pays or balances from prior visits.
• Sort mail and handle faxes; deliver mail daily if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
