Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring timely scheduling and accurate data entry for services.

You will collaborate with care teams, triage calls, and uphold service standards while using multiple software tools to schedule appointments and obtain benefit verification as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in patient access, scheduling, registration, or customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Associate degree or higher is preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (Epic, Cerner) is preferred.
• Proficient use of Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with contact center software (Cisco, Invoca, Calabrio) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the front door for patients, providing scheduling information and next steps.
• Use critical thinking to facilitate and optimize scheduling of services.
• Triages calls to appropriate departments according to scripts and guidance.
• Follow protocols and use multiple software apps to schedule appointments.
• Enter accurate patient demographics, insurance, and clinical data for scheduling and financial clearance.
