Job summary

Shriners Children's seeks a Patient Access Representative to ensure timely scheduling for pediatric care. The role serves as the first contact for patients and families, delivering courteous service and collecting registration data to initiate financial clearance.

You will triage calls, route them per protocol, and use healthcare software to verify eligibility and coordinate appointments. A High School diploma and 3 years healthcare access experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of experience in patient access, scheduling, registration, or customer service in a healthcare environment.
• Preferred: Associate degree or higher, EHR experience (Epic/Cerner) and Microsoft 365 proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the front door for scheduling information and services.
• Uses critical thinking and healthcare knowledge to facilitate scheduling.
• Accommodates special requests from internal/external customers.
• Triages calls to appropriate areas based on scripts and management guidelines.
• Follows protocols and uses multiple software applications to schedule appointments.
• Enters accurate scheduling/registration data to initiate financial clearance.
