Job summary

Shriners Children’s in the United States seeks a Patient Access Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, coordinating scheduling and service inquiries with empathy and accuracy.

You will collect demographics, verify eligibility, perform pre-certification where needed, and triage calls while collaborating with leadership on process improvements to speed access to care across our nationwide locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in patient access, scheduling, registration, or customer service within a healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Experience with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the front door for patients, assisting with scheduling and service inquiries.
• Provide accurate, timely information to patients, families and providers.
• Coordinate and schedule services; collect and enter patient data.
• Initiate financial clearance such as eligibility verification and pre-certification.
• Triage calls and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance patient access.
