Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a seller-doer engineer with a Professional Engineer license who can both develop new business and perform engineering oversight. You will manage client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports on projects you win.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or credible market plan to do so.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a client book of general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with laboratory scheduling; represent the company at meetings and industry events.
