Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who blend business development with technical expertise in materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services. You will build client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports for projects you win.

The role combines selling and engineering work, with leadership of field staff and coordination with laboratories.

Qualifications

Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports, and address issues.
Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
