Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or via comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan to build market in this area.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients (general contractors, owners, developers, design firms) for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field/lab data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
