Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seller-doer engineer in the United States, with a professional engineering license and proven business development ability. Qualifications

Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work or credible plan to generate market opportunities.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services; scope, price, and write proposals.
Negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work; serve as engineer of record on won projects.
Direct technicians and inspectors, coordinate with the lab on testing schedules, and seal reports/letters.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
